Ukrainian forces carried out new overnight strikes on Russian oil-refining facilities on July 8, and also attacked tankers and a military airfield. In Saratov, a fire broke out at an oil refinery after a drone strike, Astra reports.
Saratov region governor Roman Busargin said one person was killed and several others were injured in the drone attack. According to him, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged. He did not specify which facilities were hit.
Another strike hit the industrial zone of Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. The Nizhnekamskneftekhim plant and the TAIF-NK oil-refining complex are located there. Judging by photos and videos from eyewitnesses, a fire broke out in the industrial zone. Tatarstan authorities confirmed the attack on the city but did not report its consequences.

In Taganrog Bay, Ukrainian drones damaged two tankers heading to Rostov-on-Don, Rostov region head Yurii Sliusar said. According to him, the vessels were empty. Two people suffered minor injuries, and the crew of one of the tankers was evacuated.
In Voronezh region, according to Astra, a fire broke out on the grounds of the Borisoglebsk military airfield. Local authorities confirmed that an air-raid alert had been declared in the city of Borisoglebsk because of an attack by Ukrainian drones.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air-defense systems shot down 415 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight on July 8.
