The Iranian delegation left talks with the United States in Switzerland in protest over Trump’s threats. The first round of consultations lasted about 80 minutes, and further contacts are taking place only through intermediaries.
This was reported by Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing Iranian journalists, and by sources from the Al Arabiya television channel.
According to Ravid, Tehran’s representatives also rejected the American side’s request for a joint photo session and a public handshake during the talks.
Al Arabiya’s sources clarified that the first round of talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland ended after 80 minutes of consultations. The discussion focused on the Lebanon file and the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum of understanding. According to them, after the Iranian delegation left the venue, consultations are continuing only through intermediaries.
Earlier, Trump threatened that the United States would “blow Iran to hell” if it tried to obstruct shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
