Iran is immediately halting talks with the United States amid Israel’s intensified military operations in Lebanon, Iran’s state-run Tasnim news agency reports.
According to the agency, Tehran has also decided to fully block the Strait of Hormuz and “activate other fronts,” including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X that “the ceasefire between Iran and the United States is unconditionally a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. A violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts. The United States and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation.”
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who heads Iran’s negotiating delegation, said the U.S. maritime blockade and Israel’s new strikes on Lebanon “are clear evidence of the United States’ failure to comply with the ceasefire agreement.” “Every choice has its price,” he said.
