Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said the country has never posed, and does not now pose, a threat to U.S. national security.
“Cuba has never attacked the United States. Cuba has never carried out terrorist acts against the United States. On the contrary, terrorist acts against Cuba have come from the United States. More than 3,000 people have been victims of terrorism originating from the United States against Cuba,” Díaz-Canel said.
According to him, claims that Cuba poses a threat to the United States are “a lie repeated by American intelligence and military agencies, even though they know it is not true.”
Díaz-Canel also said Cuba is ready for dialogue with the United States, but is also preparing for other scenarios so that it will not be defeated in the event of an unexpected attack.
