US Central Command has officially announced the start of “additional strikes” on Iran.
CENTCOM said the goal of the operation is to “degrade Iran’s ability to threaten freedom of navigation” in the Strait of Hormuz.
“At the direction of the commander in chief, US Central Command forces have begun conducting additional strikes on Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States is holding Iran accountable for its recent unprovoked aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely transiting a vital international waterway,” the statement said.
