Trump criticized the Senate’s decision to limit his powers on Iran without congressional approval. The U.S. president said Iran is already “on the ropes”—effectively weakened—and “ready to give us almost everything.”
“And the U.S. Senate decides to hold a very poorly timed and pointless vote on the War Powers Act, telling the world’s Number One sponsor of terrorism that the United States does not approve of what I am doing to them and that I must stop. In doing so, they have given aid and comfort to the enemy. These senators have just made my job harder, but I will still do it—one way or another, because I always get things done!” Trump wrote.
He called the four Republicans who supported the measure alongside Democrats “losers.”
