The Skala regiment, which found itself at the center of a scandal over reports of torture and killings of recruits, hinted at retaliation against the journalists who reported the abuses.
This is stated in a video address by Skala military propagandist Mykola Kharlan, call sign “Kyivlyanyn.”
He called the accusations against the unit “Russian propaganda” and said journalists should face criminal liability for publications about violations in the regiment.
“If the state has removed itself from carrying out its duties, because the cyber-cops and cyber-chekists are busy raking in cash, and they don’t give a damn about the honor of the military, because they themselves have never fought, they have only seen the war on TikTok—then units of the Armed Forces, I think, are capable of defending themselves. And if someone thinks they can do things like this with impunity because lawlessness reigns in the country—mobilization, non-mobilization, busification, there is no law-enforcement system, no judicial system, do whatever you want... No, kittens, I am reporting to you: money is nice today, but you will still have to vomit it back up,” “Kyivlyanyn” said.
According to him, journalists who write about violations in Skala should be brought to criminal liability.
In the video, he repeatedly called journalists “journo-whores.”
“They Will Turn Your Son Into a Tiger.”
