The Security Service of Ukraine said Ukrainian drones had attacked the Vtorovo oil-pumping station in Vladimir region for the second time in a month.
According to preliminary SBU data, the drones hit a technical building at the facility, after which an explosion occurred.
The Ukrainian security service did not provide photos or videos confirming the strike. Authorities in Vladimir region did not comment on the incident.
According to NASA’s FIRMS satellite fire-monitoring system, there are no fires in the area of the oil-pumping station itself. At the same time, the system recorded a fire about 10 kilometers from the station.
The Vtorovo station belongs to Transneft—Upper Volga. The SBU calls it an important logistics hub for transshipping light petroleum products to export ports and domestic consumers. Through this station, petroleum products are supplied, in particular, to Moscow.
The previous attack on Vtorovo, according to the SBU, was carried out on June 10.
Ukraine regularly strikes oil facilities in Russia. Against this backdrop, the country’s fuel crisis is worsening: residents of many Russian regions are complaining of gasoline shortages.
