The fuel crisis in Moscow and the Moscow region is continuing. Long lines are forming at gas stations where gasoline is still being sold at relatively normal prices, while many stations have no fuel at all.
Near some Rosneft stations, motorists are waiting from 20 minutes to several hours. Lines take up entire traffic lanes, and drivers get out of their cars to stretch and discuss the situation.
“It’s the same situation everywhere—big traffic jams. Most other gas stations are open, but they have no gasoline,” one driver said.
Some stations are selling only certain types of fuel or gas. For example, some Neftmagistral stations had only diesel or gasoline with additives available, while several Teboil and Trassa stations had no fuel at all.
Gas-station employees say they do not know when new deliveries will arrive.
Because of the shortage, some chains have sharply raised prices. At some stations, a liter of AI-95 costs around 100 rubles, while the longest lines are forming at stations with lower prices. At the same time, many places are not dispensing gasoline into canisters.
The fuel shortage in Russia emerged amid continuing Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries. The facilities hit included the Moscow refinery.
