In June, Russia increased gasoline imports from Belarus to a historic high. According to the Center for Price Indices, deliveries of Belarusian gasoline to Russia reached 141,000 tons from June 1 to June 25. That is 2.4 times more than in all of May.
By comparison, in June last year Russia imported only 1,000 tons of gasoline from Belarus.
The rise in shipments to Russia was accompanied by a reduction in Belarusian exports to other countries. Belarus redirected to the Russian market fuel volumes that had previously been intended for Central Asian countries.
