On the night of June 15, during a massive attack on Kyiv, the roof of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra caught fire—according to preliminary data, from debris from a downed drone. The fire covered about 800 square meters. Icons, relics and museum exhibits were carried out of the building, and the damage is now being assessed. The Lavra has existed since 1051 and remains one of the main spiritual centers of Orthodoxy; since 1990, it has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
