Acting governor of Russia’s Bryansk region Yegor Kovalchuk said Ukrainian drones attacked a bus carrying a children’s football team from Belarus.
According to Kovalchuk, the children were traveling from Gomel for a holiday in Gelendzhik. A woman accompanying the team was killed in the attack.
Six people, including four children, were injured. All those hurt were taken to hospital, where they received medical assistance, Kovalchuk said.
Russia’s Health Ministry, for its part, reported seven injured people. One of the children is said to be in serious condition.
According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, a double-decker bus was hit by drones on the A240 highway in Bryansk region. It was carrying 44 passengers, including 28 students from Children and Youth Sports School No. 2 in the city of Rechytsa, Gomel region.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article on a “terrorist attack.”
