Brent crude fell below $80 a barrel for the first time since early March after a U.S.-Iran agreement to resume operations in the Strait of Hormuz strengthened expectations that supplies would be restored.
The global benchmark Brent fell by nearly 3.9% in London. The interim agreement is due to be signed by both sides in Switzerland on Friday, although Washington and Tehran have not yet published the text of the memorandum.
