Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, call sign “Madyar,” said Ukrainian drones struck nine Russian tankers in the Sea of Azov overnight on July 8.
According to him, the drones also attacked six electrical substations in annexed Crimea.
In total over the past 72 hours, Brovdi claims, Ukrainian drones hit 21 Russian vessels: 19 tankers, a cargo ship, and a ferry in Kerch.
In addition, over the past eight days, he said, 50 energy-infrastructure facilities have been hit on the territory of Crimea.
Rostov region governor Yurii Sliusar confirmed drone strikes on two tankers in Taganrog Bay on the morning of July 8. According to him, two people were injured, and the crew of one of the tankers had to be evacuated.
Because of Ukrainian military strikes on energy infrastructure, settlements in Crimea and the occupied part of Kherson region are regularly left without electricity, and often without water supply.
