Ukrainian drones attacked Wildberries logistics centers in the Moscow and Tambov regions overnight on July 18. Seven people were killed and another 51 injured.
All those killed were working the night shift at a warehouse in Kotovsk, in the Tambov region. Twenty-five people were also injured there.
In Elektrostal, in the Moscow region, a strike hit Russia’s largest Wildberries warehouse, which covers more than 360,000 square meters. Twenty-four people were injured. Two others were hurt in Noginsk after an oil depot was struck.
Large fires broke out at the targeted sites. Astra readers reported that smoke over the Moscow region was visible from as far as 50 kilometers away.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the operation as retaliation for Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure. He was probably referring to attacks on Nova Poshta branches and other facilities.
Zelensky said the Wildberries warehouses also stored components used to manufacture drones and “navigation equipment.”
