On the morning of June 30, Ukrainian drones attacked the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin began reporting drones shot down on approach to the capital at around 4:00 a.m.; by the time of publication, he had reported 56 intercepted drones, without mentioning any consequences. Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports were closed because of the attack.
Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that a private house caught fire in Yegoryevsk, outside Moscow, after a drone fell. A six-month-old child was killed, and another child and two adults were hospitalized. According to Vorobyov, air-defense forces shot down 60 drones in Domodedovo, Chekhov, Dubna, Kashira, Voskresensk, Pavlovsky Posad, Odintsovo, Bronnitsy, Ramenskoye, Stupino, Kolomna and Yegoryevsk.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air-defense forces intercepted and destroyed 419 Ukrainian drones overnight over 18 Russian regions and annexed Crimea. Residents of Tula, Novorossiysk and Ryazan reported explosions.
The largest attack on Moscow took place on June 18, when nearly 200 Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian capital. An oil refinery caught fire in Kapotnya. In different cities of Moscow region, 17 people were injured in the overnight attacks, and an eight-year-old girl was killed.
