On the evening of April 4, Russia struck a residential neighborhood in Kryvyi Rih. As of the morning of April 5, the death toll had reached 19, nearly half of them children, according to the head of the city's Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul. In addition, 68 people were injured, 40 of whom were hospitalized. The strike damaged 34 apartment buildings, six educational institutions, as well as shops, cafes, and other urban infrastructure. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the attack was carried out with an Iskander-M missile equipped with a cluster warhead to increase the area of impact. The Russian Defense Ministry claims the target was a "concentration of Ukrainian troops," allegedly holding a meeting in one of the local restaurants.
