According to the Research and Information Center on Antisemitism RIAS, 8,725 antisemitic incidents were registered in the country in 2025—more than three times as many as in 2022.
The sharp rise began after Hamas’s attack on Israel in October 2023 and the subsequent war in Gaza, the outlet writes.
On average, Germany recorded nearly 24 such cases a day. They included assaults, threats, acts of vandalism and violence. More than a quarter of the incidents took place online.
Almost half of the cases were recorded in public places—on streets, in transport and in government institutions.
German authorities call the situation extremely alarming and note that antisemitism has become part of everyday reality for many Jews.
