The Open Society Foundations, linked to the Soros family, will allocate $30 million to support organizations working to combat antisemitism and Islamophobia. The announcement was made by Alex Soros—the son of billionaire George Soros and the foundation’s current chair.
According to Soros, the funding will support initiatives aimed at addressing both anti-Israel and antisemitic incidents, as well as discrimination and prejudice directed toward Muslims.
Alex Soros emphasized that the issue carries personal significance for him. He noted that he is Jewish and married to a Muslim woman.
“Discrimination and hatred are not abstract concepts for me and my family. They are deeply personal and something constantly present in our lives. At moments like this, we must act. This investment is intended to help keep people safe and push back against hatred,” he said.
