During a briefing on March 10, Pete Hegseth said: “No nation takes more precautions to ensure there is never targeting of civilians than the United States of America.” He added: “Iranians target civilians; we do not.” His remarks came as international media reported a strike on a school in Iran that killed more than 150 people, including children, which journalists say was carried out by the United States.
