Every person is an explorer and a traveler in his soul. But not everyone is ready to share his world and his skies. Laurent Rosset kindly invites us to an exciting journey, flavored by the harmony, fresh air and the pure magic of photomanipulation.
Laurent Rosset — an Italian architect and photographer — is an author of photomanipulations that balance between the reality and dreams, the ground and the sky, human and nature. “I’m a dreamer, — says Laurent. — I’m a perfectionist and I use to doubt about what I’m doing to reach every time a result which can make me happy. I believe in hard work but not without hard fun. I believe in true love”. What else can be added to describe this artist’s personality? — I guess there is no need to do that at all. Laurent is handsome and young, he has all the treats and skills to subdue people by his works and talent.
Every picture is a magnificent combination of great views from the bird’s sight, authors imagination and the models’ beauty. Sometimes the models are the most tender and virgin-looking girls, sometimes — graceful animals, but the main character of Rosset’s works is always the nature: unbridled and majestic, wild and passionate. “The way we choose to see the world creates the world we see”, — says one of the description of the set The Sky is Flat. The way Laurent sees the world makes him a person with an unlimited idea resource, the romantic, the dreamer.

It seems that together with his pictures Laurent wants to take us to his own unique reality. It is interesting, that this reality actually consists of everything usual that surrounds us. But still the pictures let us feel that this world lies somewhere beyond our conscience and our planet. It is where people safely rest covered by the soft blankets of mother-nature, where boats and ships are drifting in the waves of forgetfulness and peace. “Ground is the line from where we can fly”... But not the ground only can become the start point of a trip to a dream, to your fairytale. An ear of the wheat, unstable rope, the edge of the rock… There are no obstacles or borders to fly and dissolve in the air, entrust yourself to the wind and inspiration.
In his photomanipulations Rosset plays with perspective, colors and dimensions. Bending the space, tearing it into pieces, mixing the sky and the ground, putting everything and everyone upside down he fascinates and devours our attention and minds, he makes us get to his dreams on air balloons, bicycles, buses, or just walk.
Besides photography Laurent has also created something unique and made it available for other photographers. The author calls them Lorystripes. The ides to create such elements has come up since he wanted to add some cool graphics to the nature pictures. “I remember that I was editing a mountain picture when I started thinking about adding some white graphical elements that could enhance the shape of the peaks. So I created a series of stripes, simple ingredients that can be used in different ways.” Up to now there are 2 sets of Lorystripes: Lorystripes pack 1and Lorystripes pack 2, and there also is Bonus Lorystripes. All these graphic elements are available on the App Store, this way the author helps even amateurs turn their usual pictures into something more beautiful and elegant, enhancing some details with exclusive graphics. And believe us, using such tool gives a new life and vision to any photo.
