The explosion in Vyshneve, Kyiv region, occurred at an ammunition depot, Volodymyr Zelensky said. According to him, dismissals will follow at Ukroboronprom after the incident.
The fact that the incident occurred on the territory of one of the concern’s enterprises was earlier reported to the media by former SBU employee Ivan Stupak. He noted that there had already been an explosion nearby about four months ago, but the necessary safety measures were apparently never taken afterward.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said the site in Vyshneve had no connection to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russia’s Defense Ministry, for its part, claimed that the strike had targeted the Zhulyany Machine-Building Plant Vizar, where, according to the ministry, surface-to-air missile systems are repaired.
