The U.S. Continues Deploying Troops to the Middle East Despite the Announced Pause in Strikes

Plans to deploy additional U.S. forces to the Middle East remain in place—CBS News sources said.

According to two U.S. officials, a second Marine Expeditionary Unit of about 2,200 personnel departed California last week along with three military ships. Preparations for deployment could take at least three weeks—and, in their assessment, possibly longer.
