The UN General Assembly has approved a declaration on the creation of a Palestinian state. A total of 142 countries voted in favor, while 10 opposed, including the United States, Israel, Hungary and Argentina. The declaration received support from Russia, India and China, as well as most EU member states, with the exception of the Czech Republic, which abstained.

The document sets out demands for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages and the establishment of a Palestinian state. It also calls for the disarmament of Hamas and the removal of the movement from governing Gaza, the normalization of Israel’s relations with Arab states, and the creation of a system of collective security guarantees.
