Only 28% of Ukrainians say they would like Volodymyr Zelensky to remain president after the war, according to a KIIS poll conducted in late April.
Another 16% of respondents said they would prefer Zelensky to stay in politics in a different roleāsuch as a member of parliament or party leader. At the same time, 30% believe he should leave politics after the war, while 15% support criminal prosecution against him.
The highest share of respondents supporting criminal prosecution against Zelensky was recorded in Kyiv at 25%. Residents of the capital were also the least likely to say they wanted him to remain president after the war, with only 22% backing that option.
The strongest support for Zelensky staying president was recorded in the Lower Dnipro region, including the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, where 37% of respondents supported that outcome.
