The Armed Forces of Ukraine say Russian troops have begun withdrawing from the Kinburn Spit after intensive strikes.
“The surviving personnel are being evacuated; the occupiers are leaving their defensive lines,” the statement says.
The Ukrainian side also published a video showing a Ukrainian flag, which was likely installed using a drone.
Denys Nosikov, commander of the Odesa operational-tactical group, said the day before yesterday that Russian troops had begun evacuating from the Kinburn Spit because of logistics problems.
Russian military channels also wrote about logistics difficulties on the Kinburn Spit because of Ukrainian drone strikes, but did not confirm the evacuation of troops.
The Kinburn Spit is located on the left bank of Kherson region, although administratively it belongs to Mykolaiv region. The presence of Russian troops there had blocked navigation in Mykolaiv region.
