Civilian infrastructure was damaged in Engels following a Ukrainian drone attack, Saratov regional governor Roman Busargin said. No one was injured, according to the governor, who provided no further details about the damage.
After examining photographs and videos recorded by eyewitnesses, the publication Astra reported that one of the drones had struck the top floor of an apartment building.
According to the publication, the building is part of the Ladya residential complex, located roughly two kilometers from the Engels-2 military airfield.
A fire may also have broken out on the airfield itself, Astra reported, citing eyewitness accounts. It is unclear what caught fire, and the publication did not release any footage of the blaze.
Ukrainian forces have previously carried out strikes on the Engels-2 airfield.
