Ukraine attacked St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region with drones. Leningrad region governor Alexander Drozdenko said air defenses had shot down 67 Ukrainian drones over the region. According to him, debris fell near the port of Vysotsk.
Ukrainian public channels claim the strike hit tanks at the port of St. Petersburg and have published footage of a fire. The St. Petersburg oil terminal in the Kirovsky district, where a major fire broke out after drone strikes on June 3, also caught fire after today’s attack. Local residents can see smoke over the port, and it is also visible on a surveillance-camera livestream.
The St. Petersburg oil terminal is located in close proximity to the Big Port of St. Petersburg and is used to transfer oil and petroleum products between rail, pipeline, and maritime transport.
