Journalist Tucker Carlson, who had previously voiced public support for Donald Trump, sharply condemned the U.S. decision to strike Iran, calling what is happening “an absolutely disgusting evil war.” Trump responded by saying Carlson is “not smart enough.”
Carlson argues that the conflict does not serve the interests of the United States and is being fought on behalf of Israel. “This is Israel’s war. It is not the United States’ war,” he said. According to him, the fighting has nothing to do with U.S. national security, the country’s economic interests, or the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction.
“This war is being waged solely because Israel wanted it to be waged,” Carlson said. He also added that “no one wants this war to be fought” and that it was “designed to harm the United States.”
Trump responded by saying Carlson is no longer part of the MAGA movement. In an interview with ABC, the U.S. president said the journalist had “gone off the rails” and was “not smart enough to understand it.”
