Sweden has decided to confiscate a vessel belonging to Russia’s so-called shadow fleet, the country’s prosecution authority said.
The vessel in question is the dry cargo ship Caffa, which was detained by the Swedish coast guard in early March on suspicion of carrying Ukrainian wheat taken from occupied territories.
According to prosecutors, the confiscation is being carried out under a request for “mutual legal assistance” submitted by another state, whose name has not been disclosed.
Swedish authorities are considering handing the ship over to that country, where its own investigation is already under way.
