Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich proposed striking residential areas in Lebanon in response to FPV drone attacks against the Israeli military.
According to him, Israel should destroy ten buildings in Beirut for every drone used against Israeli forces.
“The most effective way to stop Hezbollah is simply to announce that for every drone, 10 buildings in Beirut will be destroyed. If there are seven drones, then 70 buildings. If 15, then 150. And if there are no buildings left in Beirut, then we will move on to Tyre, Sidon, and the Bekaa Valley,” Smotrich said.
The minister pointed to the war in Gaza, saying that similar tactics had allowed the Israeli military to inflict “very serious damage” on Hamas, although he acknowledged that the goal of completely destroying the group has not yet been achieved.
