Slovakia is ending emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Robert Fico in a video address posted on Facebook. According to him, starting today Bratislava will no longer respond to Kyiv’s requests for support to stabilize the power grid. “As of today, if the Ukrainian side turns to Slovakia for assistance in stabilizing the energy network, it will not receive such assistance,” Fico stressed.
Earlier, Slovakia—together with Hungary—demanded that Ukraine resume the transit of Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline, which was halted in January.
