A Second U.S. Aircraft Has Crashed in the Strait of Hormuz Area—an A-10 Attack Aircraft, and the Pilot Has Been Rescued

A second American military aircraft has crashed in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to two U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, a U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft went down, though the pilot was successfully evacuated.

The sources added that the incident occurred at roughly the same time as a U.S. Air Force F-15 fighter jet was shot down over Iranian territory.
