Overnight on December 20, a Russian missile strike on the port of Odesa killed at least eight people and injured another 27, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said. According to the agency, the port infrastructure in the Odesa district was hit by a large-scale barrage of ballistic missiles.
The attack set both freight trucks and passenger cars ablaze in a parking area. Earlier, a local official had reported seven fatalities and 15 wounded. A passenger bus carrying many of those injured was at the epicenter of the strike. All the wounded were hospitalized. Emergency services extinguished the fires.
