Vladimir Putin oversaw a scheduled strategic nuclear forces exercise via video link, the Kremlin reported.
During the drills, an RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome toward the Kura test range in Kamchatka. The nuclear submarine Bryansk in the Barents Sea fired a Sineva missile, while Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out launches of air-launched cruise missiles.

“The exercise tested the readiness of the military command structure and the operational personnel’s practical skills in directing subordinate forces. All objectives were achieved,” the Kremlin press service said in a statement.
