Russia carried out a massive, combined strike on Kyiv early Friday morning, November 14, mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Fires broke out in several districts, streets were covered with debris, and at least 11 people were injured. Five were taken to hospital, including a man in critical condition and a pregnant woman, following a series of powerful explosions and air-defence activity.
Authorities warned that the attack on the capital was still under way and urged residents to remain in shelters until the air-raid alert was lifted. Municipal services reported possible disruptions to electricity and water supplies. Images circulating on social media showed burning buildings and people standing on streets littered with debris near residential blocks.
According to updated figures, five people were killed and 27 others injured in the strike.

In the Dniprovskyi district, three apartment buildings and a private structure were damaged, and a fire broke out in an open area. In the Podil district, five residential buildings and one non-residential property were damaged. In other parts of the city, falling debris also triggered fires.
According to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv regional administration, Russian strikes damaged critical infrastructure and private homes in the region, injuring at least one civilian. In Bila Tserkva, a 55-year-old man suffered thermal burns and was hospitalised. Fires also broke out in private homes in the suburbs of Kyiv.
