On the morning of Friday, October 10, Kyiv was left without electricity and water after what the Ukrainian military called a “massive attack.” Russian strikes hit the capital’s infrastructure, triggering a fire in a high-rise residential building.
According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched more than 450 drones and 30 missiles, targeting the energy sector. Power outages were reported across nine regions.
In Zaporizhzhia, drone and missile strikes damaged 12 residential buildings. According to the regional governor, a seven-year-old boy was killed and four other people were injured.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said 12 people were injured in the capital, eight of whom were hospitalized. Power and water outages affected districts on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
Videos posted online showed apartments engulfed in flames as firefighters moved toward the blaze. Debris from downed drones fell in several parts of the city.

“The capital of the country is under enemy ballistic missile attack and a massive strike by enemy drones,” the Ukrainian Air Force said, urging residents to remain in shelters.
Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk said Russian forces were carrying out a “massive attack” on the energy system. “Energy workers are taking all necessary measures to minimize the consequences of the strike,” she wrote on Facebook.
