Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region several times on the evening of July 3, regional head Ivan Fedorov said.
According to him, air alerts were declared in the region because of the threat of a missile strike and drone attacks.
In Zaporizhzhia, residential and nonresidential buildings, as well as one industrial enterprise, came under attack.
Two city residents were killed in the attack. Another 21 people were wounded, 12 of them hospitalized. Two teenagers were among the injured.
Yevgeny Balitsky, the Russian-appointed head of the annexed part of the Zaporizhzhia region, reported an attack on a market in Tokmak during the day on July 3.
According to him, five people were killed and another 18 were wounded. Balitsky called the incident a “targeted enemy attack.”
Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on terrorism charges.
Ukraine has not commented on the statements by the authorities of the annexed part of the Zaporizhzhia region.
