The U.S. television network Newsmax, owned by Christopher Ruddy—a long-time ally of Donald Trump—plans to begin operations in Ukraine as early as this spring.
The channel’s official website reports the signing of a licensing agreement that provides for the launch of broadcasting in the Ukrainian market.
Newsmax’s Ukrainian division will be headed by journalist Liudmyla Nemyrya, who hosts her own YouTube channel. Her husband is Heorhii Nemyrya, a member of parliament representing the Batkivshchyna party.
In the United States, Newsmax is regarded as one of the most Trump-friendly television networks and occupies a prominent place among right-wing media outlets targeting a Republican audience. In Ukraine, the channel is expected to operate as a full-scale broadcaster—with news programming and analytical content.
