New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani accused Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip. In an interview, he said alleged war crimes by the Israeli military against Palestinians and others in the enclave must not be ignored.
“We talk a great deal about the World Cup and watch the matches, but then we see reports that a man who went to Gaza to organize match screenings was killed by the Israeli military. There is no respite from the genocide there, even during moments of the greatest joy for the world,” Mamdani said.
