The White House said that, with the participation of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, another seven Ukrainian children who had previously ended up in Russia were brought back.
This is already the fourth case in which Melania Trump has been personally involved in reuniting families separated during the war between Russia and Ukraine.
As part of the current effort, six minors who had been in Russia are returning to Ukraine. The handover of one more child to relatives is expected to take place later this month.
“First Lady Melania Trump and her representative continue to work with Russia and Ukraine to identify and reunite those who were displaced as a result of the ongoing war,” the White House said in a statement.
