On the night of June 17, Russia launched more than 440 drones and 32 missiles across Ukrainian territory, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said. One of the most devastating strikes hit Kyiv, where a missile destroyed an entire entrance of a residential building. Rescue workers are still clearing the rubble, and the exact number of people trapped beneath remains unknown. Buildings were damaged in eight districts of the capital.

Strikes were also recorded in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and the Kyiv region. Rescue operations are ongoing in all affected areas. According to official reports, 75 people have been injured and 15 killed.

Volodymyr Zelensky called the strikes "pure terrorism" and urged the United States, Europe, and other countries to respond as a civilized society should when confronted with terrorist acts. "Putin does this only because he can afford to continue the war," he said, stressing the need for a collective response from Ukraine’s partners. In his words, "Terrorists must feel pain—not ordinary peaceful people."
