On the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a combined aerial assault on Kyiv, which the city administration described as one of the most massive attacks on the capital since the beginning of the war.
According to Ukraine’s National Police, 15 people were injured: seven in the Solomianskyi district, two in Dniprovskyi, five in Obolonskyi, and one in Holosiivskyi.

Debris from intercepted ballistic missiles and drones fell across six districts of the city, causing fires and destruction. Both residential and non-residential buildings, a shopping mall, vehicles, and elements of city infrastructure were damaged.

The overnight assault on May 24 marked one of the most extensive aerial attacks on Ukraine in recent months. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 Shahed attack drones and decoy UAVs of various types across the country. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 245 drones and six of the missiles targeting Kyiv.

At least 15 people were injured in the capital. According to various reports, seven were wounded in the Solomianskyi district, two in Dniprovskyi (both hospitalized), six received medical assistance on site in Sviatoshynskyi, and one person was injured in Holosiivskyi. Residential buildings, a shopping mall, and urban infrastructure were damaged across six districts of the capital.
In Kyiv Oblast, a private home caught fire in the town of Berezan after drone debris fell on the property. According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, the fire was extinguished, and two people were injured.

In addition to Kyiv, strikes also targeted the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Damage to critical infrastructure was reported in several of these areas.
