Journalists and bloggers aligned with the MAGA movement reacted sharply to Donald Trump’s remarks after he had criticized them for rejecting a war with Iran.
Conservative commentator Candace Owens wrote on X that “it may be time to send grandpa to a nursing home.”
Journalist Tucker Carlson said on Newsmax that he had always liked Trump, but now felt sorry for him “as I do for all slaves,” adding that he “cannot make his own decisions.”
Blogger Alex Jones posted a video in which he said: “I pray that God frees him from the demonic influence under which he is operating,” and then added on his podcast: “You should be kissing my ass”—apparently referring to the role he believes he played in helping elect him president.
Trump had earlier sharply condemned their opposition to a war with Iran. He accused them of years of hostility, called them “stupid,” “irrelevant,” and “troublemakers,” even though as recently as about a year and a half ago they had supported him and taken part in his campaign.
