Lockheed Martin said it cannot give allies delivery timelines for Patriot PAC-3 missiles because the order of allocation is determined not by the company, but by the U.S. government.
The manufacturer is increasing production of the missiles from 650 to 2,000 a year by 2033 under a $4.7 billion Pentagon contract. Demand, however, has risen sharply amid the wars in Ukraine and Iran.
As a result, countries including Germany, Japan, Poland, Saudi Arabia and the UAE remain uncertain about delivery schedules. Washington decides which allies receive the missiles first.
