Marine Le Pen, who recently regained through the courts the right to run in France’s 2027 presidential election, is firmly leading in the polls, BFMTV reports.
According to an OpinionWay poll conducted for Les Échos and Radio Classique, the National Rally candidate would receive between 34% and 36% of the vote in the first round if the election were held this coming weekend.
Pollsters note that Le Pen’s announcement that she would run had a stronger effect on her rating than the negative impact of the conviction.
She is followed by Édouard Philippe, leader of the center-right Horizons party, with 22%; Jean-Luc Mélenchon, founder of the left-wing France Unbowed, with 13–15%; and Gabriel Attal, leader of the pro-presidential Renaissance party, with 7%.
