In Kyiv, officers from the TCC blocked a car’s exit, struck its windows and opened fire.
The circulated footage shows two minibuses blocking the vehicle’s path, after which representatives of the draft office, in the presence of police, begin striking the windows. Once the driver managed to pull onto the road, one of the TCC officers opened fire from a pistol at the departing car.
Amid such incidents, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the president’s office, said that no change should be expected from simply renaming the TCC or altering its format of work—the substance of the process will remain the same. “If people do not come forward—they will have to be mobilised,” he said, acknowledging the chaotic character of mobilisation and calling it inevitable.
