Kyiv Is Demanding the Removal of an Audit of International Aid From the U.S. Peace Plan

The Wall Street Journal, citing a senior U.S. official, reports that Kyiv has asked to revise one of the core provisions of the U.S. peace proposal. According to the official, the Ukrainian side sought to remove the clause requiring an audit of the international assistance the country has received during the war. The original intent, he noted, was to use such a review to identify potential corruption schemes. However, the source said Kyiv pressed to include language providing “full amnesty for actions taken during the war”.

Publicly, Ukrainian officials have limited themselves to saying they received the draft plan from Washington and are studying it.
