Kim Jong Un inspected a new nuclear-materials production facility and said North Korea was expanding its nuclear capabilities, Bloomberg reports.
During the visit, the North Korean leader said the country’s capacity to produce weapons-grade nuclear materials had doubled over the past 5 years.
He also ordered further increases in production volumes to meet long-term strategic goals. According to Kim Jong Un, this is “vital” to building a powerful nuclear arsenal capable of countering the “hostile policy of the United States” and threats to North Korea’s security.
