Support for the war with Iran is declining even among adherents of the MAGA movement, according to a new poll.
The share of MAGA voters who consider the war justified despite its economic costs fell from 50% in May to 37% in July.
At the same time, support increased for limiting US involvement if costs continue to rise or for ending the war altogether.
The principal reasons for the shift in sentiment were rising gasoline prices, casualties among American service members and concern about the state of the economy.
